Mid-Century Warmth: Retro Collection Project
The interior design project "Retro6" delivers an exceptional homage to mid-century modern aesthetics, combining organic warmth with clean geometric abstraction. Across five distinct visual perspectives, the living room space showcases an atmosphere that is both nostalgic and thoroughly contemporary. The room relies on a sophisticated earthy color palette, where deep olive green, rich mustard yellow, and warm terracotta tones interact beautifully with dark charcoal, crisp white walls, and the natural grain of rich walnut and teak woods.
The structural setting is minimalist and airy, allowed to breathe through tall ceilings and expansive plain walls. These surfaces serve as a clean backdrop for bold graphic artwork, featuring mid-century style abstract prints in contrasting olive green, black, and cream geometric shapes. Furniture selections are iconic of the era, showcasing a low-profile velvet sofa in a rich olive-mustard hue, structured wooden-framed armchairs with leather finishes, and lightweight black metallic accent chairs that emphasize linear simplicity and functional elegance.
Lighting is treated as a major sculptural element within the design. The space features iconic mid-century fixtures, including a tall Totem-style white stacked globe lamp, a tiered Japanese-inspired paper lantern floor lamp that emits a warm amber glow, and adjustable matte-black articulating wall sconces with long swinging arms. Complementing these are low, geometric coffee tables with glass and stone tops resting on angular steel bases. Together with a finely textured gray area rug, this project seamlessly blends historical furniture design with a modern layout, resulting in a cohesive, cozy, and highly sophisticated living environment.

The warm light creates a cozy atmosphere next to the olive-toned velvet sofa and a sleek black leather sling armchair. A smaller framed abstract artwork with a circular motif hangs neatly on the wall, balancing the room's proportions.
